Move, Celebrate, and Support Our School

Mark your calendars for our annual Move-a-Thon fundraiser on Friday, October 16!

During this joyful, school-wide event, students will run, walk, hop, skip, or jog laps while family and friends make donations in support of their education.

The Move-a-Thon is one of those special days when our whole school comes together—students moving, families cheering, and our community supporting the educational experiences that make VVPWS special.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Move-a-Thon is a school-wide fundraiser and community celebration. Students complete laps in whatever way feels right for them while families, friends, and community members cheer them on and support their efforts through donations.

  • The 2026 Move-a-Thon will take place on Friday, October 16.

  • Our goal is to raise $75,000 toward the Foundation’s annual grant to Valley Vista Public Waldorf School.

  • These funds help provide the programs, materials, and educational opportunities that enrich Waldorf education at VVPWS, including:

    • Movement classes that help our kids build confidence and feel good in their own skin.

    • Handwork classes where they learn to solve problems with their hands (and make the coolest stuff).

    • Overnight trips that stretch them out of their comfort zones in the best way.

    • Art supplies, classroom materials, library books, and gardening supplies – all the things that make public Waldorf education come alive!

    • Teacher and staff support that ensures every child is seen, guided, and cared for each day.

  • Every family’s participation matters. Families can support the event by:

    • Sharing their student’s pledge page & helping fundraise

    • Volunteering on the event day

    • Attending and cheering

    • Connecting with place of employment or local business about event sponsorship or matching 

    Every donation and every act of support helps create a joyful and successful experience for our students.

  • We would love for you to help out leading up to the event and/or on the day of!

  • If you find that folk's want to give you cash or checks, just collect those in an envelope labeled with your child's name and put it in the white lock box in the VVPWS Main Office labeled "The Foundation for Petaluma Public Waldorf".
