Move-a-Thon Event | October 16, 2026
During this joyful, school-wide event, students will run, walk, hop, skip, or jog laps while family and friends make donations in support of their education. The Move-a-Thon is one of those special days when our whole school comes together—students moving, families cheering, and our community supporting the educational experiences that make VVPWS special. Donor Advised Funds
If you have a donor-advised fund, you can recommend a grant to the Foundation for Petaluma Public Waldorf through your DAF sponsor (Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or your community foundation, among others). Search for us by name or by our EIN, 68-0469315. Most sponsors let you set up a recurring grant, so a DAF can support your Family Pledge the same way a monthly gift would. Please let your DAF sponsor know the gift is unrestricted, in support of Valley Vista Public Waldorf School, and please email giving@petalumapublicwaldorf.org so we can properly thank you and track your family's pledge, since DAF grants often arrive without your name attached.

Where your gift goes
Our shared goal this year is $1,000 per student. The Foundation makes an annual grant to the school for specialty teachers and aides, Handwork and Movement, the TK/K Village, Adventure Learning, teacher training, and community life. The school sets the priorities. The Foundation raises and stewards the funds. Gifts are pooled so every child benefits equally, regardless of grade or classroom.
Full transparency: We asked an AI to make this graphic a month ago, hesitated in sharing it because of the whole AI-and-art conversation, and then... did not, in fact, learn to weave in the intervening month. So here's the robot's tapestry. It's still the best visual we've got for showing what your pledge weaves into the school. We think it genuinely does a nice job showing where your pledge goes. So here it is, algorithms and all. If you make us a better one, we will absolutely retire this in your favor!

There is a place for you at the table. Foundation members are anyone actively contributing on a Foundation team.
Attend a Meeting. We meet every third Monday from 6-8PM in the VVPWS Staff Eatery. All are welcome!
