Family Pledge Program Drive
Ambassador Guide

You're here because you're someone who helps hold this community together. We're currently at 41% participation in the Family Pledge Program across 450+ enrolled children — and this drive is about bringing the rest of our community in.

Our goal: 70% participation by May 22nd. That means 154 conversations. Between all of us, that's fewer than two per person. Totally doable.

Your One Job

Have 2 real conversations with families in your class community before May 22nd. Not a pitch. Just an honest conversation about why you're part of this, and a genuine invitation to join.

What to say

Keep it simple:

"Hey, I don't know if you've heard about the Family Pledge Program — it's basically the recurring giving that funds the whole school. I'm part of it and it matters a lot to me. Have you had a chance to look into it?"

You're not asking anyone to give a specific amount. You're not delivering a presentation. You're just making sure they know it exists, why it matters, and that someone they trust thinks it's worth doing.

  • If they ask what it funds: Donations to the Foundation fund positions that are core to a full Waldorf education — our handwork teacher, our movement teacher, and kindergarten aides — among many other things! Without the Family Pledge Program, these positions are at risk. For much more detail about all of the many things funded by Foundation donations, see the mid-year update.

  • If they ask how much to give: Any amount given consistently makes a difference. Families who want a benchmark can aim for $1,300 per child for the year — but the most important thing is participation, not amount.

  • If they say they already gave to the Jog-a-Thon or Auction: That's awesome and super appreciated! The Family Pledge is the next step. It's recurring, unrestricted giving that funds the whole school year round, not just tied to one event.

Other ways to help

Not a one-on-one conversation person? We'll have tabling opportunities at the Festival de Cena Latina Primavera and on campus during the drive. This is the part that newsletters and banners can't do. It has to be us, talking to each other, the way we already do.

You already know how good it feels to be part of something this meaningful. Let's make sure everyone else gets to feel it too!
